The team that loses will have to banish someone to the island. Ruth Marie, Terry, Danielle & Austin are chosen. Austin fell right away. Terry got the amulet first. Then Austin & finally Ruth Marie. Bayoneta [Younger Women - YW] loses & has to choose someone immediately. Danielle offers to stay since she is the one that lost the challenge. The girls didn't want to do that so play "Rock, Paper, Scissors" for it. Misty loses & is the 1st person banished to Exile Island. She will stay the night there & join back up w/ her Tribe for the Immunity Challenge. When Probst is alone w/ Misty he tells her she will only have 1 bucket of water & 1 machete for the night. He said & her clue for the Idol, he's already given it to her. She looks around for the Idol but doesn't have any luck. The next morning she said spending the night there was her worst nightmare & she was tired, hungry & thirsty. She dug around a little more for the Idol but didn't have any luck. She decided she would let her Tribe THINK she found it in hopes if they lost they wouldn't vote for her. Tina got fire for OW. She is a log-roller from Hayward Wisconsin. I spent my summers there as a kid. Cirie was all freaked out about everything. She even said she was afraid of the leaves on the ground cuz bugs could be under them. Over at the Younger Men [YM] they are playing baseball & having trouble making fire. The shelter they built was pretty bad. YW aren't much better. They can't decide where they want to build their shelter. Courtney finds a dead turtle & sees a bunch of symbolism in it. Her Tribe thinks she's a little weird. 

The Older Men [OM] have fire. Dan tells Terry he won't ever lie to him. They shake on it. Dan says he will tell him a secret. He was an astronaut & flew on the Space Shuttle. Terry shared that he isn't just a pilot, he has flown F14s. Meanwhile Shane doesn't feel he fits in w/ the older guys & is really wanting a cigarette.. The Tribes meet for Immunity & Misty returns. She tells Probst she was lonely but it has it's advantages. Wink Wink. The Immunity Idol has 3 pieces since 3 tribes will win it. They will first all be on a dock & have to climb over a wall & jump into the water. Then they swim to a raft & someone has to go under it to release it so they can paddle to shore. Once there they have to do a brainteaser. A clue is buried & they have to decide if they want to bother looking for it or figuring out the puzzle. Once they get the ring from the puzzle they have to throw it over a hook to pull their flag down. YW take the lead paddling their raft. They reach the beach 1st & then solve the puzzle to get Immunity. OM finish next. It's down to YM & YW. The Men get it. Cirie is nervous cuz she isn't the most physically fit on her Tribe. She doesn't want to be the 1st person voted out. Tina is off by herself & we find out her 16-year-old son, her only child, was killed in a car accident 4 months ago. She is off thinking about him. She doesn't want to tell anyone in her Tribe about him now. Cirie works Ruth Marie about taking out Tina. Meanwhile Tina finds a live fish on the rocks to bring back to her Tribe. 

Melinda tells us that she thinks Cirie is the weak link. At Tribal Council Cirie & Melinda talk about how hard it is there. Tina was confident though in her outdoor skills. Ruth Marie said they let Tina take the ball & lead. Cirie agreed that Tina was leading them & she was the one to start the fire & find the water. Tina said she didn't think the others were pulling their weight like they should. Melinda said to be fair, they aren't napping. They may not be doing the same things as Tina, but they are working too. Cirie voted for Tina saying she wished she learned more about her & they just don't click. Tina voted for Cirie saying someone has to go & her biggest factor was her fear of leaves. Melinda & Ruth Marie also voted for TINA making her the first person out of Survivor 12. Probst said they just voted out the one person that could make their lives easier. Tina said they made a huge mistake & she hopes they do terribly. She thinks working hard worked against her but she wouldn't change a thing. She was just w/ the wrong girls.

2/9: There is a storm at night. The Older Men's shelter wasn't finished & water is coming in. Shane is miserable. I think he would be miserable no matter what the weather. As he is talking to the camera, lightning strikes close by. The Younger Girls are also miserable. The next morning the Older Women can't get fire. Guess they voted off the wrong girl, huh? The Younger Women were able to knock a papaya off a tree. Shane whines that he is missing his kid & thinking about his football practice & that there is no reason for him to be there cuz he makes enough money. 

At the Reward Challenge Probst tells them to step on a disc. Guys on one color & the girls on another. They flip them over & Danielle & Terry each have a buff underneath. They get to make the first picks for their new tribes. Terry will be La Mina & Danielle is Casaya. A girl will pick & guy & vice versa. Danielle went first & chose Shane. She called him the "cool guy". More like "hot head" IMO. Terry chose Sally. Shane went next & picked Courtney. Sally said she wanted the fast guy, Austin. Courtney chose Aras. Austin said he will take "Exile Island" Misty. Aras chose Cirie. Misty picked Nick. Nick picked Ruth Marie. Bobby chose Melinda. Only Dan & Bruce were left. Ruth Marie chose Dan. So the tribes are Casaya: Danielle - Shane - Courtney - Aras - Cirie - Bobby - Melinda. La Mina is: Terry - Sally - Austin - Misty - Nick - Ruth Marie - Dan. Bruce is odd man out. Probst tricks him into thinking he would be going home but he wasn't. He would spend the next few days on Exile Island & would come back at Tribal Council w/ Immunity. He would watch as the person is voted out & then take their place on that tribe. He will also be given another clue to find the hidden Immunity Idol. The clue told him that it is above the tide level. I also saw that the word "why" was in quotes. I have seen it pondered that there is a tree that has the letter Y on it made out of a vine. I wonder if that's it. The challenge was another obstacle course. They had to collect 6 wooden snakes along the way. Only one member of their tribe could carry them. The tribe to finish 1st gets fishing gear. La Mina took the lead & won the race. 

The tribes go to their camps & Shane immediately begins bashing his old tribe. Cirie feels invaded by the young people. Melinda thinks she & Cirie are screwed cuz they don't fit in. Shane forms an alliance w/ Danielle, Courtney & Aras. He swore on his son that he wouldn't betray them. Over at La Mina, Terry is forming his own 4 man alliance. Sally tries to form one w/ Austin that included Misty & Nick. Sally goes fishing w/ Nick & she accidentally shoots the spear & loses it in the water. Nick was cool about it & told her not to worry about it. Terry & Dan didn't seem too thrilled when they found out. At the Immunity Challenge, Probst asked Misty what it has been like. She said they are all good. Shane is a jerk again & says he doesn't know about people that act like they are doing alright when they are not just to try to get at the other tribe. He said they are not in a good way. Maybe it's just you. For the challenge they had to transport a Zombie head from a sinking boat to the finish line. The boat would have 6 holes in it. 5 people would be in the boat bailing it out. The other 2 would be in the water dragging the anchor. La Mina killed Casaya once again. Probst called Casaya "Absolutely Inept". 

Back at camp, Shane is whining… again. He said he hates losing & wants a cigarette, coffee & to call his kid. He tells the girls he wants them to vote him out. Melinda tells Cirie & Bobby what Shane said & how others are trying to talk him out of it. Cirie can't believe it. She says if someone wants to quit, let them. I totally agree. Eventually Aras talks Shane out of quitting. Shane blames being thirsty on why he was being a whiney quitter. Aras then tells his minions that he wants the game to be honest & that either Cirie or Melinda will go. Courtney was pissed that her King just announced that w/out telling them what he was going to say first. Shane jumped on that saying he doesn't care which one of the women go cuz the other one will be going next time. What a jerkoff. Cirie & Melinda are both pissed that they actually want to be there but a quitter will get to stay. Cirie thinks they will vote for her. Melinda thinks it will be her since she was the last one picked for the tribe. 

At Tribal Council Bruce was brought in like a juror to watch. Shane said this has been the worst thing to ever happen to him. Does this guy ever stop? He said that he smoked 3 packs of cigarettes a day & didn't quit till he got there. What an idiot. Cirie told Probst how her tribe informed them of their 4-person alliance. Melinda said she tries her best to stay & someone who wants to quit will get to. Cirie cried & said her family will be disappointed in her if she goes. Probst doesn't think they would be. She said she will be disappointed for them cuz she came for them. We saw Melinda vote for Shane saying he asked her to & she doesn't go back on a promise. Only she & Cirie voted for him though as even Bobby went w/ the Alliance.

2/16: Bruce gets to go to his new camp after Tribal Council. He tells them that he has taught wilderness survival for many years. Shane says Bruce is neurotic & grates on his nerves. To be fair, I am sure everyone grates on his nerves, smoking or not. The guy is just a huge jerk. Bruce tells them they can run the water through shirts as a filtering system so they can drink it. Courtney thinks she knows more & doesn't believe it. Bruce tells us he thinks he went to the top of the tribe cuz of all he knows. La Mina isn't eating well. They are living on snail & crab leg soup. 

Nick & Austin go fishing but all they catch are Puffer fish, which they can't eat cuz they are poisonous. Terry did catch something small they got to eat & it's better than nothing. At Reward they have 3 launchers & they get to shoot 2 each round. The others are on a balance beam in the water & have to try to catch them. They can jump off to catch it but have to catch it for it to count. The first team to get 5 wins a tarp, kerosene, pillows, blanket, rope & a canister to carry water in. Misty, Ruth Marie & Danielle launch for La Mina & Bobby, Bruce & Cirie do it for Casaya. Terry got the 1st one & Aras missed his. Terry dropped the next one while Nick got his. Danielle & Terry got the next ones & the score now is La Mina 3. Casaya - 2. Shane got the next one & Terry missed the score was tied. Then Shane got the next one & Terry missed again so Casaya takes the lead & needs just one more. Terry got the next one & Aras missed it so they were tied again & both just needed one to win it. Terry got it so La Mina won. Along w/ their prize, they also got to pick which of Casaya would be exiled. 

Since the team bragged about Bruce & how much he has helped them they decide to take him away again. It rains again that night & La Mina thought about Bruce being out there alone. Bruce said he has spent more time on Exile Island than he has w/ his Tribe & he didn't have time to look for the Idol cuz of the storm. Casaya was missing Bruce & their morale went down again. Shane flips out about his "thinking chair". He doesn't want anyone else sitting in it. Aras tells us he is in an alliance w/ 3 "nutholes". Courtney asked Shane's opinion on getting the hot pot off the fire & Shane just bitches at her. Sally works Nick to pair w/ her & Misty. Misty brags that she is a natural flirt & will use it. She then gives Austin & Nick massages. Look out Julie Berry. Probst fell in love w/ her & she was of the same thinking to try to use feminine charms to further herself in a game. Misty suggested to Sally that they can also play the weak ladies so maybe the guys would keep them. 

Bruce came back for the Immunity Challenge. It would be a physical head to head battle. It reminded me of "Beach Brawl" over on MTV's Gauntlet. There were 5 circles, one farther than the next. Somewhere in the circle a beanbag is buried. They have to find it & bring it back to their mat. They other team can do what it takes to take that bag from you. The first team to get 3 bags to their mat wins. First Cirie & Danielle took on Sally & Misty. Cirie just sat on Misty to keep her down. Cirie was finally able to get the bag to her mat. Nick & Terry took on Bruce & Bobby next. A lot of wrestling here. Terry held Bobby down & Nick got the bag to tie the score up. Shane, Courtney & Aras went against Austin, Ruth Marie & Dan. Austin was the one to finally get the bag to the mat. Next was Courtney, Cirie, & Aras against Sally, Nick & Misty. Misty was trying to play dirty by kicking & choking & Probst called her on it. Cirie took Misty down. Aras got the bag to tie up the score. Just one round left. Bobby & Danielle go against Ruth Marie & Terry. Ruth Marie finally gets the bag & runs towards her mat but Bobby catches her & dragged her to his mat instead to win it for Casaya. Dan thinks they should vote out Ruth Marie. Austin said if they based it on the challenge it should be Misty. Sally said it is between Ruth Marie & Dan for her. She thinks voting out Ruth Marie would be better for her. At Tribal Council Probst asked about the spear & Austin just said they didn't have any luck w/ it. Everyone acted like they like each other & that it really is one big lovefest & that they were all working together. Ruth Marie said she is the odd man out cuz she was the only one to come to this tribe w/out someone from her old one. Nick said he is voting w/ the group. Misty voted for Ruth Marie cuz she is a team player. Terry voted for Misty saying she is a smart girl & he wishes it didn't have to be this way. Ruth Marie got Misty & Sally's votes & everyone else voted out Misty. She didn't have the Idol so she was out. She was shocked & said she was outplayed & oustrategized. She hopes her tribe goes all the way.

2/23: Sally felt isolated now that they voted out Misty without telling her. She will just continue to work hard & hope something changes so she can stay. Dan talked to Ruth Marie & offered her a spot in his alliance. He thinks she would be more loyal than Sally once they get to the merge. Over at Casaya Aras, Bruce & Shane are out getting snails. Courtney is practicing her Yoga. Danielle is sleeping. This pisses off Aras & Shane & they call a meeting so they can argue. Aras tells us he wants Courtney gone. Cirie is just loving the drama & will just keep working & stay out of it. 

At Reward Challenge they had to go one at a time & retrieve a large floating puzzle piece & put it in the floating ring. Once all 6 pieces are there they can put the puzzle together by matching up the symbols on the ends. The winning tribe gets a bathroom, toilet paper, loofa, towels, soap & 5-gallons of water. La Mina got their 6 pieces first but Casaya wasn't far behind & eventually won it. They got to exile someone from La Mina & they wisely chose Terry. La Mina all agree that they want to try to keep up the camp in Terry's absence. Austin said he missed him already. They can't catch any fish & are starving. Back at Casaya Aras wants to use the bathroom to keep their wood dry. Bobby didn't agree & immediately proceeded to christen it by taking a dump. Terry read through all the clues for the Idol. The new one said it was hidden beneath a rock. 

Last week said it was above the tide line, then buried aboveground & finally the one that kept saying "why". Terry notices the y-shaped tree & began pulling up the large rocks. He notices no roots under one so he digs w/ the machete & finds a box. Inside is a bottle w/ the hidden talisman. TERRY HAS THE IDOL! Ha! I love it. Casaya's fire is out & the guys decide to move it closer to their shelter. Shane is annoyed w/ Danielle & said she has an aversion to working. Aras agreed. Danielle obviously didn't & she said she does just as much. Shane asked Cirie & she wanted to stay silent but said Danielle doesn't do as much as others. Terry came back for the Immunity Challenge.1 person from each team would be seated on a chair. & then there would be another person up above them w/ a water jug. The rest of the tribes would be tied together in teams of 2 & they would have to fill cans w/ water & then walk across a balance beam & then fill up the jug that the person up top then has to pull up & fill the other jug until it pulls the person in the chair up to release their flag. If one person falls off the beam then they lose their partner's water too & had to start again. Bobby sat out since they had more people. The people tied together were Aras & Bruce, Sally & Austin, Shane & Courtney and Dan & Terry. Danielle & Ruth Marie sat in the chair while Cirie & Nick raised the water. Dan was the only person to fall. This was another very close race but Casaya just beat them again. Sally tells La Mina that she respects them all & knows she may go but hopes she stays cuz she has a lot of game left. Austin tells Terry that he thinks they should keep Sally. Terry agreed. When they tell Dan he is upset cuz he thinks Ruth Marie would stay loyal after the merge. Nick was w/ Dan saying he didn't want to go back on his word. 

At Tribal Council Terry talked a little about Exile Island but didn't give anything away. His tribe talked about missing him. Probst pointed out how much Sally dominated the IC. Austin said he made a mistake by taking his time pouring the water & they would have won if he had just dumped it in. He didn't know they were that close. Ruth Marie said she is small & twice as old as everyone else but feels she proved herself. Sally said she was surprised she was the only one who voted w/ Misty. Ruth Marie mentioned her loyalty. Sally voted for Ruth Marie & vice versa. We didn't see anyone else's votes at that time. Ruth Marie was voted out 4-2. Dan was the other vote for Sally. Ruth Marie said she was humbled & wishes her tribe luck. Next week Austin is sick due to them not eating. Courtney invades Bruce's Zen Garden. Casaya's bathroom gets flooded after a rain.
